My work focuses on understanding and addressing how systems of oppression shape health outcomes and access to well-being, particularly for vulnerable populations. Through mixed-method research, I explore the experiences of Black youth, refugees and immigrants, and individuals living with or at risk for HIV, to inform policies and practices that promote equity. As an educator, I strive to create engaging, thought-provoking learning experiences that prepare present and future public health leaders to approach public health with an equity lens.
Beyond teaching and research, I’m also deeply engaged in community service and collaborative research, recognizing that lasting change happens when we listen, learn and unlearn, build relationships, and work together across disciplines and lived experiences.
